Your choice of upholstery textiles can account for up to 70% of furniture price, so making the correct decision is a big responsibility, as fixed upholstery pieces tend not to be replaced often!

Tightly woven fabrics and man made blends tend to wear longer than light or loose weave natural fibre. Upholstery fabrics also tend to be dry clean only. To comply with upholsery regulations fabrics under go what is called a "Rub Test" The higher the number the more hardwearing.

Suitable fabrics include certain weights of chenille, damask, velvets, tapestry and faux suede. (all available as F/R or non F/R) We have an extensive range in store and also to order from pattern books, the selection is endless.

We also have recommendations for loose cover (also called slip covers) fabrics. This is a fitted protective cover that may be slipped off and on a piece of furniture.
